It's the start of another challenge Little Miss Muffet Challenges and this time we're digging into the warm colors! The theme this fortnight is "Reds, Oranges and Yellows" and we want to see your creation with all those colors.

I went with a summer theme, of course, and used Coriander on my project. I tried to use 100% warm colors but a just a tidbit of green found it's way into my coloring. But somehow that splash of color works perfectly. ;D

As a side story, I had a dream, possibly a nightmare, that I went to a HOA meeting just out of curiosity but was somehow nominated to be on a board and before I walked out they had put me in as the president. Yikes... that's a lot to take in but hopefully this card will wake me back up into a nice summer day in the backyard! LOL

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
Crafting for All Seasons Challenge #2 (summer)
Anything Goes Challenge #42 (summer)
Bearly-Mine Challenge #13 (summer)

Did you know? Garbage Pail Kids is a series of trading cards originally released in 1985 and designed to parody the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls which were immensely popular at the time. Each sticker card featured a Garbage Pail Kid character, with some comical abnormality and/or suffering some terrible fate, and a humorous, word play-rich character name, such as Glandular Angela. During the height of the card series popularity, Garbage Pail Kids were banned in many schools worldwide.

Go Girl Go

It's another challenge day at Little Darlings Challenges and this time we want to see you use your favorite colors. One of my favorite colors is pink so I had to have some of that on my card. I found some left over girlie Basic Gray paper that was perfect for the occasion.

The stamp I used was Go Girl Go and she is part of the second release of images from Love to Stamp. These care free spirited images are so much fun to color and can really be used various ways - I love using them with backgrounds but they're also perfect to use on their own! ;D

I embellished it with a few traditional items and even dug out a forgotten ticket to use as the sentiment. I also used a few lasercut chipboards from Make it Crafty which I'm going to start calling Chippies. ;D Hope you enjoy the card and get a chance to "Play" this week!

Did you know? Tornadoes have been observed on every continent except Antarctica. However, the vast majority of tornadoes in the world occur in the Tornado Alley region of the United States, although they can occur nearly anywhere in North America. They also occasionally occur in south-central and eastern Asia, the Philippines, northern and east-central South America, Southern Africa, northwestern and southeast Europe, western and southeastern Australia, and New Zealand. Tornadoes can be detected before or as they occur through the use of Pulse-Doppler radar by recognizing patterns in velocity and reflectivity data, such as hook echoes, as well as by the efforts of storm spotters.

Cookie Bugg & Autumn Bugg

It's another Tuesday and we have a great challenge at Tiddly Inks to get your week started! The challenge for you is to create something with the theme "Sugar and Spice with a Twist!" We want you to make a sarcastic or humorous. ;D

I took this as the perfect opportunity to use a new sentiment I found from Inkadinkado - this one says "It's fun to grow up because TV and cookies stop being bad for you." I created a scene to go with it using Cookie Bugg for the grown up and Autumn Bugg for the little kid (the rebellious disgruntled kid, of course). Then I colored in some expressions on their faces to match.

I'd have to say I totally cracked up laughing when I saw this sentiment at the store because it was soo true and related well to recent experience. Nothing more "telling" than to have your own kids catch you in the act of grabbing an extra snack. LOL

I pulled the card together with a few embellishments: pink gingham ribbon, black gems and a couple black sequin flower centers. The background utilizes a bunch of scrap papers I had in efforts to use up some scraps.

Did you know? A Zeppelin bend (also Rosendahl bend) is a general purpose bend knot. It is a secure, easily tied, and jam-resistant way to connect two ropes. Though its simplicity and security may be matched by other bends, it is unique in the ease with which it is untied, even after heavy loading. Even though it is not very well-known, it is praised by some sources as a nearly ideal bend knot. A bend knot is a knot used to join two lengths of rope.
