Batty Princess

We have a fantastic new challenge for you this week at Make it Colourful and it's certainly and challenging challenge! We want to see Coloring Mist on your project!! But the good news is you can use any medium you want as long as your coloring. :D So get out your markers, paints, pencils, and anything else you can find, and come join us this week!

For my project I created mist on the Spooky Graveyard from Make it Crafty and I found Batty Princess from Kraftin' Kimmy from my stash to pare up with it. I thought she would be perfect walking out of that graveyard so princess like!

The mist was a little difficult to start on but I followed a few tips from Delphine and jumped right in. First I Googled "morning mist" then used T0 and T1 to lightly color in where I wanted the mist to be. Then I started building up the around those areas getting darker and darker with the Toner grays. Finally, I started added color and bringing out the elements.

The sky was colored with light circles going from T0 secquentally down to T6 with a little B91 and B93 mixed in with it. I colored Batty Princess with blacks as well keeping with the theme but enjoyed giving her green eyes and red hair. The red hair mixture is from Annika and I think it's my new favorite combination - D59, E19, E08, and YR14.

Most of the color comes from the paper and I had to cut, tape, rearrange and glue to get it to fit but I'm happy with how it turned out. The border paper was 6x6 and I had to get it to fit around the 5x8 paper.... so no peeking under the graveyard image!! LOL Finally I added a small tag and some silver flowers to finish it off. I loved how it turned out and hope it gives you some ideas.

This is my second new release preview from Little Miss Muffet Stamps this week and this gal is named Jada - she just got back from a day of shopping and coming home with her goods!! I'm sure those bags are filled with Copic markers, paper, embellishments and chocolate! LOL

For my journal page today I used the new released Jada image from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and combined her with the Romantic Window from Magnolia Stamps. Come check out all the new release this week over at the Little Miss Muffet Challenges blog - the design team have come up with some fabulous designs!!

My page is kind of a hodgepodge of supplies because I started out with the red star decorative paper in the background and decided it was too bright. Rather than waste the paper and remove it from the page, I started building up other papers on top and used neutral and muted embellishments to help dull down the red. I think it worked. ;D

I wish I could find some more burlap ribbon as I really enjoyed using it on this page - it's a great neutral color and adds a lot of texture. I'll be sure to keep an eye out the next time I head to the store. Lastly if you can see... I'm almost finished with this journal book!! Only one page to go and this book is finished. There is NO WAY it is closing but all those pages make it perfect to display it on my desk and I can easily flip the pages to match my mood.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Die Cut Dreams Challenge #98 - flower power
She's Gone Digital - art journal linking party
Jen's Digi Stamps - anything but a card
Sweet Stamps Challenge #33 - anything but a card
Creative Stamp Friends Challenge #34 - anything but a card

Harvest Swan

It's new release week at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I have four new images we're showing off today and tomorrow. Here I'm featuring Harvest Swan and I colored it up in black and whites for a wedding card. I kept the card simple and added a silk black ribbon and only a few dew drops at the lower corner.

I think this image would also be fun for baby cards too as well as birthday, of course, and this card could be also be used for a classy "over the hill" birthday card! Head on over to the Little Miss Muffet Challenge blog and check out all the other inspiration from the design team - they've done a fantastic job! Enjoy. ;D

I'd like to enter into the following challenges:

Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge - animals
Party Time Tuesdays Challenge #34 - monochrome
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #2 - anything goes
Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #31 - birthday balloons
Anything Goes Challenge #50 - anything goes

Mini Frankenstein

I can't believe it's only Wednesday! I've been off by one all day today but this time it works to my advantage and I get my Wednesday back again! LOL Today I have another mini journal page and this one is featuring Mini Frankenstein from Make it Crafty - he's the third and last MonztaBoys in the group.

I used another one of my bookmarks for the background castle and a house number metal embellishment from Tim Holtz. I figured with the dragon there, that this little Frankenstein is being kicked out of his home at 82 Castle Street. LOL No wonder he's sulking a little. Then I finished up the page with a few Dew Drops around the bottom. Enjoy!

Mini Headless Horseman

Good morning! Today I have another Halloween mini journal page to show and this one is featuring the Mini Headless Horseman from Make it Crafty. This little guy was a little difficult to choose how I wanted him to be colored but I finally figured out one possible way and even tried to give a little embroidery details in his vest.

Behind him are face cards that were cut from a Halloween Alice & Wonderland decorative paper, which I think is from Tim Holtz. Then I cut some shapes out of felt (Nestabilities and MFT Die-namics) and added a few orange brads at the bottom to finish it off. Happy haunting! :D

Mini Medusa

Here's another one of the Halloween mini pages I mad with the Make it Crafty images... this one is Mini Medusa and I ended up coloring her twice! This is actually my first attempt and you can see my second attempt HERE. On this version I gave her tan snake hair (sans nose) and a green and yellow body.

On this page, I used some more of that meshy ribbon and added a yellow ribbon bow I found in the dollar section. Finally I added some faux stitching and two bat charms at the top - the page doesn't lay flat, but I've given up on that long ago! LOL

School Girl Tia

Remember these gals? Of course... this scene was featured all by itself last Saturday and I was finally able to get them onto a journal page! ;D For this project, I used School Girl Tia and Bookish Tia from Some Odd Girl then set in front of the Sunflower Garden by Make it Crafty.

Last week I had put an orange decorative paper behind the images with a satin black ribbon which halted all creativity I had! Lucky for me the challenge was a coloring challenge and I didn't necessarily need the rest - so I pulled everything off and started from scratch.

This time I used a black and green background paper which worked much better. That meshy stuff is Punchinella Ribbon that I found online. I also added some faux stitching around both gray papers and two large lacing Xs next to the cat. Finished!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

She's Gone Digital - Art journal linking party
Some Odd Girl Challenge - stitching
