Underwater Mermaid Scene

Welcome to the Make it Crafty blog hop where we are celebrating not only a new release, but our new illustrator Marina!  She has a whimsical style and will be bringing us lots of gorgeous backgrounds and characters! There are many images in the current release 'Under the Sea' that you don't want to miss and I've even seen a few sneak peeks at some fairies that are awesome!

You should have arrived here from the incredible DELPHINE!

For my project I used Underwater Mermaid Scene and printed it out to fill out the card because I knew I wanted to do more coloring that card making.  He he he.  I first started with the water and figured if I messed that up then it would be easy to start over.  The inspiration I used for this was an image I found through Google and can be found HERE.  If you can believe it, the hardest part to color was the sand... it was left for last and taunted me throughout.  LOL

PRIZES: The best part about a blog hop are the prizes!!  Each of us have selected one image to give away to a random commenter on our blog and the image I chose is the one I've used... Underwater Mermaid Scene!!  You have until Sunday May 6h to finish the hop and we'll post the winners on Monday!

But that's not all the prizes either! Make sure to visit everyone on the hop and also leave a comment on the main MIC Store Blog for a chance to win the entire collection - how awesome is that!  :D  Zoe has three prizes over there that you don't want to miss.  Good luck!

Are you ready for another challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps?  Well this time we have an easy one for you... May Flowers!!  Our last challenge was April Showers so how could we not resit taking it all the way.  LOL  And since most of us use flowers galore, this should be an easy peasy challenge.  :D

For my project I used Licorice from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and paper from Authentique called Delightful.  Remember the card kits I was making for the Hatter Party at my local scrapbook store?  This was one of them!  :D  I also used a die in the background from Memory Box, Country Border or something like that, however, the paper is so busy that it's hard to see unfortunately.

For a good contrast with the background paper (see I learned my lesson from the Country Border die I used!  LOL), I decided to go with a bright orange for the dress on Licorice.  (YR21, YR 12, YR14, YR 18 and YR27)  Then Green apples becuase they would show up better than red, and her hair combination is the Copic E70s.  The skin tones are E21, E31, E00, E000, E04 and the blush was R11 and R12.  Lastly, the brown basket was colored using E55, E57, and E59.

Finally, I used up the last of my white satin ribbon, found some sherbet flat pearls and added a HUG tag (found at Oriental Trading Co online).   I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.  Make sure you also visit the LMM Challenge Blog for the design teams' inspiration - they've done a fantastic job!!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Make it Monday Link #87 - Anything Goes
Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #113 - May Flowers
There She Goes Challenge #154 - May Flowers
Crafty Pad Challenge #168 - April Showers brings May Flowers

It's a new challenge day at Some Odd Girl and we have a sketch for you this month!  Don't miss out on the blog candy posted above and also be sure to visit the SOG Blog for all the other sketch inspiration and fabulous designs!  You're going to love it.

For my project I used Renew from Some Odd Girl and combined the challenge sketch with another card I found online at Just Give Me Stamps.  The combination of the two came out great and as anyone might know, pink is my favorite color so this one really speaks to me.  :D  The browns and blacks really give it an antique feel that I haven't captured for a while.  I also used the coordinating "relax" sentiment and stamped on the pink banner.

If you remember my puppet box from last week you might recognize that this girl was colored the same way, and in fact, you might even notice it's the very same image indeed!  And you'd be right.  LOL  My kids were enjoying their own puppets so much that I snatched her away before the paper was crumpled and used her for this project.  However, I added some R81 and R83 to her dress so it would match the paper better. Pretty sneaky, eh?  Enjoy!

Mice are Nice

Mice ARE nice, aren't they?  Especially when they're wrapping gifts and celebrating in your behalf such as these little mice are.  :D  And the best part about it was I didn't have to do any coloring.  LOL  How's that?  Well, I had ordered a sheet of pre-colored images from Lili of the Valley and they were perfect for a quick project!  Check it out...

The diecut sheet is from Mice are Nice from Lili of the Valley.  There are six images on the sheet and I used the basic layout for each of them and made a card.  So once a week I'll post another card and you can see them all.  :D  Enjoy!
