Ginger

I can't believe it's Thursday already!  My final exam is schedule for today at 6:00pm and I wish I had another week to study!  (Maybe even another month!  LOL)  But alas... I have to get it over with sometime and you know what all be doing all day today.  Sleeping?  He he he.. maybe, but I'll have my nose in the books, of course!

The image I used is Sugar 'n Spice Dolls - Ginger from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and there is a new challenge up today and the theme is paper piecing.  I always love to do this but so caught up in the coloring that I easily forget!  Hopefully I won't wait as long before I do it again.  And you'll have to make it over to the LMMS Challenge blog to see all the DT creations - they're gorgeous!!  Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Tea Party Friends - Khloe

My brain is truly fried!  So at times like this it's always a good idea for me to CASE something I adore.  ;D  Do you remember Faye's lovely creation using the little Zebra from Little Miss Muffet Stamps?  I loved it and thought I would try to re-create the style.  And althought I don't have the same sentiment stamp, I do have the same Zebra, of course!  LOL  So here's what I came up with...

The Zebra is one of the animals in the Tea Party Friends #2 - Molly and Khloe set from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  And the LOL sentiment is from The Greeting Farm.  The ribbon and button are from my stash and finally used a multiliner pen to trace around the oval.  Making a shape card was actually kinda fun and I think I'll try another one out soon.  ;D

Clover Butterfly Wishes

Come join Little Miss Muffet Stamps on FaceBook where we have a special color challenge!  The theme is to use bold and bright papers for your project since that's one of my troublesome areas.  I've been doing much better about using the primary colors in the images, however, those "loud" papers still cause anxieties.  LOL  So pick out your favorite LMMS and show us what you can do with "Bold & Bright" papers!

This is my project using Clover Butterfly Wishes from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Pollycraft.  I've also used the Royal Decree sentiment stamp, also from LMMS, and thought it worked well with the faerie theme.

The papers I used have been in my stash for a long time and I always skip over them.  The patterns are wild and busy so when I combine them together they're even louder and chaotic.  However, this was the challenge for me so I tried to calm it down with some solid colors ... but not too much, otherwise that would be too easy!  Even my camera was having problems that day!  (Ha, actually that's my lighting but it's fun to blame it on the colors.  he he he)  So how do you think I did?  I'm certainly going to try it again... but after I calm down a bit.  ;D

Tilda with Anchor

I had a little time to play around this week... well, actually, I rebelled and skipped out on my homework!  LOL  But that aside, I had fun with this project and it took me the whole night too.  Of course, I might have been able to get it done faster if I hadn't stopped to clean the craft room or just to turn off the TV would hae helped.  But it was rewarding!

My project was inspired by Chris who does amazing work with her scenes and I'm always in awe how they turn out.  Plus she was the first one that I spotted who used a regular and mini Magnolia image on the same project!  So I took inspiration from two of her cards which you can see HERE and HERE.

The images I used on this project were all rubber stamps and I masked areas to create the scene.  the characters are Tilda with Anchor and Ahoy Tilda from the 2012 Summer Memories collection, Magnolia Stamps.  (I think!)  The background and sentiment stamps are from Make ti Crafty and include the Palm Trees and Just Wanted to Say.  The rest of the scene was filled by me.

I experimented a little with the face and ended up coloring her four different times!  The main problem was my paper was giving out and wasn't able to blend after a while.  This was Nenah paper and though it did fine with everything else on the page, the layers on the face was just a little beyond it capability.  I already knew this so why I didn't think ahead before choosing my paper is unbeknownst to me.  (You can click HERE on what I've discovered about the papers I have.)  Anyway, I finally gave up and went a different route... Wobbles!
I discovered these fun gizmos just recently and lucky for me the shipment arrived just the day before - so you know what that means!  It was on my desk just staring at me begging to be used!  LOL  I decided to take the surprised Tilda face and give it some 'action.'  These Wobble springs are sticky on both sides with a plastic spring between the two layers.  Once it's attached to your project, you can spring it and the image will shake/rotate back and forth.  Here's a picture of the actual springing... so as you can imagine how much fun this might be!

The clouds were used as part of the tutorial that I posted earlier this week.  So if you're interested in how to make these clouds you can click HERE for some ideas.

Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you're having a great weekend!   Ciao, a presto!
