Polka Dot Pals Neva

Happy New Year!  I already know this is going to be a long night for me as I stay up with my kids for the new year.  Last year was bliss - we were out camping so I set all the clocks forward two hours.  He he he.  But they overheard me telling their dad about it a couple days later.  I was caught!  So this year, they are already making sure that all the clocks are set correctly and are determined to watch the ball drop.  LOL.

I wanted to share a card I created using the Add-on Faces from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  These are so fun to use and they work on all the Polka Dot Pals.  Also available in both rubber and digital.  Bonus!

Fancy Sunbonnet Winter Birdhouse

I love birdhouses and I love the sunbonnet images, so this is the perfect combination.  For this project I wanted to keep it simple.  I used the Party Banner metal die and Fancy Sunbonnet Winter Birdhouse rubber stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I chose some paper from a Christmas stack I had in my stash which matched great with the birds on the image.  Lucky me that I colored the birds red!  LOL.  I hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by this week.  :)

Fireplace Background

For a while, I've wanted to color this image and really make the fire glow.  I didn't know how to do it, so honestly, it's been sitting on my desk for over a year.  This year I finally decided to take the plunge and get into it - for better or for worse.   So this is what I worked on during Christmas while the kids were busy playing with their new toys.  I must say, I'm rather pleased at how it turned out.  Can I say that?  He he he

The stamp is Fireplace Background from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and the Icicles border metal die available at Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  For the fire, these are the Copic colors that I used ...

Y00, 11, 32, YR12, 24

I started with Y00 and outlined the fireplace.  I thought I should leave that area white and not do anything with it.  Then from the outside going in, I colored from the darkest to the lightest and making sure it was blended.  When that was finished, the fire looked too white but I worked on the rest of the image before deciding what to do.

As you can see, the fireplace is on a separate paper and raised from the fire.  This was so that I could add dimension but mainly because when I was working with the fire, it was easier to not have to worry about the staying within the line.  LOL.

Once everything was complete, I realized the white of the fire really was too bright and needed something.  So I went in with Y00 and just a tad of Y32 to create some flames within the flames.  I added a bit too much color, in my opinion, so I used the blender marker just above the logs to remove some of the color.  That actually worked in my favor and I like the way it turned out.  What do you think?

Stinkin' Cute

Sometimes I get a package and I'm able to color something straight away.  This was one of those times.  I used Stinkin' Cute and the Hello die from Lawn Fawn and created this simple card.  I'm realizing that my favorite print is either gingham or text so this is the best of both.  Enjoy!

Happy Twila

Merry Christmas!  I hope it's full of fun, surprises and coloring!  :D

This is Happy Twila and is one of my favorite stamps this month.  I can tell that many other people love her too as she is so hard to keep stocked in the store. I can just imagine here saying "I love it" in the same sing-song way that my daughter says it.  So adorable!

I was planning on posting a project using a Little Miss Muffet Stamp but this is pretty close.  Plus this was the only project I had ready.  LOL.  So instead, I'll be coloring a LMM image and then I can still get some enjoyment out of what I've drawn.  Sigh.  I know just the stamp I'll color too.  :)

Forest Friends Orlando

It's Christmas Eve and I'm so excited for tomorrow.  I love watching the kids and their excitement - it rubs off on me.  Squeal!  Today is also a quick release from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I have released all the Forest Friends in digital format and they are each adorned with something seasonal.  And the best part?  They are all listed at $1.00.  Oh yeah!

This card is using Forest Friends Orlando rubber stamp.  I colored him while I was out camping one weekend with my Polychromos pencils.  Since I have two sets of pencils, I think I'll be leaving those with my camping gear.  Hopefully that will give me more opportunities to color.  That would be sweet!

Happy Twila

This is one of the cutest stamps I've cleared this month and I wish I could say it was one that I drew.  But alas, it wasn't.  Don't let that deter you, cuz sometimes an images just resonates with our inner soul and this was the one for me.  I'm allowed, right?

This is Happy Twila and I created a card using the Four Seasons Tree Die as the background.  The decorative paper was actually created by me by using the chisel tip of B01 and drawing stripes.  I then used a black liner and added some more stripes.  It was actually fun a perfect for what I needed.  This Happy Twila was actually the label from the stamp - I'll show the one I colored in a couple days.

Dexter Ice Cream

Little Miss Muffet Stamps is sponsoring the challenge today at Cards und More and I thought I'd join along with a project of my own.  The theme is "Christmas" and I wanted to share a tag I created using the Cutters Baggie and Tag die.

Here's my latest project using Dexter Ice Cream from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  Dexter was colored with my Marvy Le Plume markers.  I had actually colored Dexter long before but went over a couple areas so I could use it on this project.  The ice cream and hat were more of a pink but I wanted a red.  This is one of those times that the alcohol markers come in handy.  I grabbed a red Copic marker that I liked and lightly colored over those areas until it turned red.  Simple!

Christmas Tree Surprise Box

I managed to create another Christmas Tree Surprise Box using the instructions from Annie's Paper Crafts.  This one I made with a more masculine theme for my neighbors.  I didn't think guys would want something too frilly.  Although I'm not sure I can make anything papercraft related without it being a little girlish.

This makes a great gift box and I took a bunch of photos.  My daughter is in the process of finishing hers and I hope to show that off soon.  She has the box put together and now just needs to decorate it.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

This box was a lot easier to make than the last.  Last time I didn't make any mistakes but I fumbled a little.  This time, I knew what to expect and it was as easy as pie.  LOL.

I thought it would be a perfect treat box so I lined it with tissue paper and filled it with homemade goodies.  Yummy!  I hope you like it and thanks for dropping by today.

Front Door Background

Here is the latest Card Kit that I've created.  It uses the Front Door Background rubber stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps which is also the rubber stamp this is included in the kit.  I've been meaning to create a mostly white card for a while and I was inspired by the recent cold weather.

Layering the card is pretty straight forward and you can create a card as large as 6x6".  I usually create square cards that are slightly smaller, around 5.75" x 5.75", so I can place them in the envelopes.  However, with the supplies included, you can create a size that suits you. Each layer is 1/4" smaller than the previous layer.

I colored the door with light colors because I wanted the wreath to stand out. I have the colors I used somewhere on my desk so when I find them, I'll update this section.  :D

Update: I found the Copic colors I used!

BG000, 53, B00
YR23, 20
T0, 2
BV20, 23
YG21, 25, 28, 67
R5, 12, 17, 29, 89

This is a limited quantity card kit so grab it while you can!

Wild Sprouts

I wanted to share some projects by it Little Misses in the house. These were all done with The Greeting Farm stamps featuring Anya and Wild Sprouts.  Lydia wanted to entering one of these into the current Farm Fresh Challenge with a "Christmas" theme.  While these are not in traditional holiday colors, they were all made for gifts.  It's so fun to craft with them!

Treat Tag featuring Wild Sprouts Megan

Gift Tag featuring Mermaid Anya

Greeting Card featuring Cuddle Anya

Last, but not least, is a lineup poster using Wild Sprouts as My Little Pony characters.

Reeta as Rarity
Sassy Suzy as Rainbow Dash
Annika as Twilight Sparkle
Bree as Apple Jack
Camille as Fluttershy
Chelsea as Sunset Shimmer

Winter Pine Grove

One of the things I like to do is to recycle the stamp label and create a card out of it.  No sense in letting it go to waste and it makes for a quick project.  This time I used the label from the Winter Pine Grove by DoveArt Designs.  I had already colored this stamp on kraft paper, which you can see HERE.  It was refreshing to work with lighter colors for more of a true winter pine grove feel.

Christmas Tree Surprise Box

I added the Christmas Tree Surprise Box instruction booklet to the store, and ever since, I've been eager to make one myself.   I even had fun digging into my little button box to adorn the tree.

This is my first experience creating something from Annie's Paper Crafts and it was rather enjoyable.  The booklet includes both step-by-step instructions as well as the cutting/folding templates so you can follow whichever your learning preference is.  I chose the templates to follow and my daughter worked on the step-by-step - they both resulted in a tree box.  Surprise that!  LOL.

I had actually wondered why this named the Christmas Tree Surprise Box but when I showed off this box to my hubby, I soon realized.  Of course, he felt the box was rather obvious.  However, when I showed how the tree trunk was also a box, he was genuinely surprised.  ... and that surprised me!  So I guess the box is appropriately named.  LOL

Mr. Frosty

I found some mustache brads at the craft store and thought they would be cute to use on a project.  They've been sitting on my desk for a while until I found the right one . . . Mr. Frosty from Wee Stamps was perfect.  I colored the image as normal.  Then when colored in the drop shadows, I positioned the mustache and added a shadow there too.  Then I poked a hole in the paper and added the brad.

I like how it turned out and I like the end result of coloring.  It was a fun image to color.  :).  Of course, I made a card from it, however, I don't like how it turned out.  I think it was the pattern paper or it might be because strayed from my default layout.  Either way, I'm sure it's just me and that any anyone would be happy to receive the card this season.

Clover Winter Friends Card Kit

Here's a project that is a little different from what I normally do which made it all that more fun.  I'll explain a little more below.  This is also a card kit, Clover Winter Friends Card Kit, for one lucky person since there is only one kit left.

The stamp is Clover Winter Friends from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. My goal was to eliminate all the white space around the stamped image.  I could do this by coloring around the image or by fussy cutting ... I chose the fussy cutting and then decided to do something fun with her wings too.

I also want to mention the new challenge that opened up today.
 - it's Anything Goes so come show off a project this week.  :D

You can see how I layered and assembled the card.  I used foam dots to pop up the top layer and also the image itself.  The diecut is Birds on a Wire Metal Die, also from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.

I cut out the image and even clipped off her wings.  I usually don't use a black marker to go around the cut edge but this time I did.  Since I wasn't going to have the white base, I wanted to make sure the thickens of the paper didn't stand out.  Check out below how I did the wings, which were placed on the card before I added Clover.

I stamped the wings twice on clear plastic and cut them out so I could layer them. This allowed me to use the ground plus a white gel pen for snow and to keep it separate from the image.  The wings were covered with Stickles glitter and I bent them a little at the base so they stood out from the card.  However, before I layered them on the card I also stamped the image, in black, on the decorative paper.  This helped to position the image too.

I stamped the image I colored in gray and the one on the base in black.  You can use any sentiment that will fit the chipboard embellishment, which is from the Happy Days Tab Sentiment set from Make it Crafty.  You can see I doodled around the chippie too.

Here are the Copic colors I used:

E0000, 27, 30, 31, 34, 35, R11
C2, 3, 4, 6, 7
RV000, 11, 19, 34
BG0000, 32, 34, 75
YR18, 23, 30, Y32

Creepin' Crew Monday

This is my last project as a guest at The Greeting Farm and I've had so much fun.  Thank you so much!  For this project, I decided I would use Creepin' Crew Monday and do a winter project. I'm a fan of Chris' work and fell in love with one of her projects she made earlier this year.  The style was unique and I wanted to try it out so this project is a CAS as a tribute.

I colored Monday with Copic markers first and used these colors:

E30, 31, 57
YR65, R05, 17, 29, 39
W3, 6

Since I was working on non-standard coloring paper, I didn't want to mess it up with the marks bleeding so I colored the base quickly.  Afterwards I brought out the Prismacolor Pencils and did a little touch up and the eyes.  I wasn't able to get the white as white as I wanted, so I used a white gel pen and some gesso for the hair and snow.

The background paper is a decorative paper that I stamped the skull on with red.  The skull is acutely part of the CC Sweet & Toxic stamp that has been retired.  It made a nice background for Monday. Lastly I added some twine and and a charm to make it a little different from Chris' snowman project.  Thanks Chris for the inspiration!
