Polka Dot Pals Amelia

There are new digital stamps at Little Miss Muffet Stamps today and two of them are additions to the Mermaid Warriors crew. Plus the third stamp is a tribute to all the teens graduating from school this month with an official "Polka Dot Pals Dab!"  LOL

I've created a card with the latest Polka Dot Pals Amelia rubber stamp and added on one of the new Polka Dot Pals Add-on Faces.  These faces will be released later this summer so this is a preview of one of the expressions.

I pulled out the red, white and blue paper pack by Pebbles called Americana. The rest of the items were taken from the stash from here and there.

The Copic colors I used are:

R12, 14, 29, 46, 59
0, T2
BG11, 13, 32

Tall Cactus

For this card I've used Tall Cactus from DoveArt Studios. I was looking for a soft male card for a graduation so I chose colors that were less bold.  Then I doodled around the stamp to give it a border and created a simple card.

The sentiment is a word chippie from Make it Crafty and the paper is This & That from Echo Park.

Here are the Copic colors I used ...
YG21, 23, 17, 93, 95, 97
G40, 24, 19
BG11, 32, 13
YR24, 23, Y32
BV23

I'd like to share this in the following challenges:

Polka Dot Pals Ida

I love how this one turned out.  This is Polka Dot Pals Ida rubber stamp and I have stamped on a Polka Dot Pals Add-on Faces.  This is one of the new faces that will be available this summer so it's a sneak peek.

Here's a close up of this darling face.  With her big grin, I was tempted to add braces but I ran out of time.  That's certainly something I'll do next time!

For those at Jennifer's Advanced Copic Boot Camp have the benefit to try out the new Add-on Faces stamp and also to try out Creative Color Placement and color a face of their own.  I know sometimes taking that step towards a fully colored face can be intimidating and these faces are great stepping stone to get there.  Plus with all the different sizes and shapes, you can see the endless possibilities for character.

The sentiment is a chipboard from Make it Crafty and there is always a variety to choose from.

The paper I used was We R Memory Keepers Anthology 6x6 paper.
I used the following Copic colors:

BV25, 23
E29, 27, 25, 23, 21
R05, 02, 00
T4, 2, 0, W10
BG57, 11, 10
E34, 31, 00, 000, R11
YG17, 25, 23, 21, Y08

I'd like to include this in the following challenges:

Boat Harbor

Bonjour!  I've created this card using the Boat Harbor stamp from DoveArt Studios.  I wanted to color a little bit of water and these boats also allowed me to add in some colors. I've been short on boy cards so this worked out quite nicely with timing.  For more DoveArt inspiration you can visit the DoveArt Studios blog.

I found my felt stash so I've been keeping an eye out for a project where I could add some fluffy clouds and this one worked for the occasion.  The cheese cloth was used to symbolize a fishing net.  I still see cheese cloth but I think that's because I made it.  LOL

Here are the Copic markers that I used for coloring:

YG25, 63, 17, G28, 24, 40
B91, 02, 04, BG 34, 10, 11, 13
E23, 41, 27, 31
R29, 14, 05

Polka Dot Pals Jennifer

I had a lot of fun with this image.  I was inspired by Jennifer Dove and the pictures she posted at her last boot camp in her plaid skirt and pig tales.  She was so cute and so I decided to make her into a Polka Dot Pals rubber stamp.  Meet Polka Dot Pals Jennifer from Little Miss Muffet Stamps - complete with two sayings "Get 'er done" and "... or you'll get the boot."

I am also excited to announce that Jennifer will be using this in her Advanced Copic Retreat. You can practice coloring patterns on the skirt and shirt - but best of all, you can practice coloring faces like I did on this one.  Adding a face to the Polka Dot Pals is my favorite part in coloring them.  But there are also Add-on Faces to help guide you too.

For the color scheme on this one, I went with a rainbo - starting with red hair, then working down the clothes to her shiny red boots with orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.

My card, and several others from the design team, are posted on the Little Miss Muffet Challenge blog where you can also share one of your cards.  Head on over and link up your favorite from this week!

Country Shed

I'm honored to announce that I'll be spending some time as a guest with Jennifer working with her fabulous rubber stamps, DoveArt Designs Studios.  I hoped that this will allow me to turn over some new leaves and get back to crafting.  :D

For my first project, I set out to create a card but ended up with an envelop instead. This uses the Country Shed rubber stamp and it was stamped on balsa wood.  I planned to add a little color but the balsa wood started to disintegrate so I ditched that idea and went with a monochrome focus.

I did, however, manage to color the leaves, Acorn Leaf Chipboard from Make it Crafty, with Copic colors E11, E23, E25 and YG93.

Hope you enjoy this tidbit of inspiration.

Celeste Amberglow Sweet Teacher

Welcome back!  I have a left over project that I never showed here from Valentine's day.  This project uses Celeste Amberglow Sweet Teacher from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and was actually a teacher gift.

There is a new challenge opening up at LMMS Challenges.  It's anything goes so head on over and link up your favorite project this week.  You could even have a chance at being part of the Customer Appreciation Day and receive a free image to work with.  You know you want to!

This card doesn't open the traditional way and from the looks just has a front and back.  This is the back which shows the lyrics to the song that it's going to play.

The bottom of the card opens up and rivals two chocolate characters that dance and sing.  This internal part of the card was taken from a Hallmark card.  I dissected it then rebuilt my card around it.  This revamped card is smaller than the original one and is about 6x6.25 inches.

Check I out, here's the card in action ... my daughter introduces it and then shows the dancing and signing characters inside.  Enjoy!

Ladybug Garden

For this project I've used Ladybug Garden rubber stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I actually found the image half colored in a stack of papers long forgotten.  It was water damaged and warped and I wasn't sure if I should toss it out or not.  But I decided to see if I could salvage it and chose a light color palate so I didn't have to do a lot of blending.

There is a new Anything Goes Challenge and New Releases from Little Miss Muffet Stamps today.  Come check it out!

Graduate

Here's yet another bookmark that we've stuffed into a red envelope for someone in the family.  Even though they are all similar, I've tried to make them a little different.  This one uses Graduate from Sister Stamps.  While coloring this one, my daughter learned about the graduation ceremonies and why someone is given a lei, or several of them.  She says she wants to move to Hawaii now when she graduates but I promised her this is something we can do even in Texas. She excited about the prospect of receiving so many that it covers her face.  LOL

Katsura

Here's another bookmark for our red envelopes.  I'm sending out a few of them late and I'm going to try to get at least one more done but no promises.  This one uses Katsura from Sister Stamp and I used a white gel pen to on the outfit to give it a pattern.

Year of the Rooster

Yep, another one using Year of the Rooster from Sister Stamps.  This little critter is easy to use and fun because of the many ways that it can be colored.  I got the inspiration here.  I already have two more picked out but I think I'm going to move on to some of my other Sister Stamps and share the ink.  Plus there is another one made by Lydia that I wanted to share too.  Her's has been my favorite.  :D  Happy year of the rooster!

Year of the Rooster

Here's another wish I created to celebrate the Spring Festival and Chinese New Year using Year of the Rooster by Sister Stamp.  My girls also used the same stamp and came up with a few on their own.  I think these will be great bookmarks to use.

On my project, the two lanterns where some doodles I quickly drew and colored.  The letters are cut from the Cutters Mini Alpha & Numbers Die from CC Designs.

 Here's one of Cassandra's ...

Here's one of Lydia's ...

Here's one two of Amelia's ...

Year of the Rooster

Happy Spring Festival and Chinese New Year!  We are making wishes and putting them in red envelopes this year for our friends as a little twist.  This one I made for my father using Year of the Rooster from Sister Stamps.  Wishing everyone health this year!

Felted Mice

There are so many adorable felted mice out there.  My Mom showed me a pin cushion Felted Mouse from Suzie of Crowsnest Pass from TDIPT Mercantile and asked if I could make a couple for her.  This isn't exactly but they do take after hers.  The mouse is needle felted and the strawberries are sewn with sheet felt.  They are sitting on vintage wooden spool that are very very old.  I have forgot exactly but I was impressed how old they were.
